Running a bid costs money. Bid tables at conventions, travel, materials, outreach, and the work of keeping this alive until August 2026: none of that happens for free. This is where you come in.
There are two ways to support us financially.
Tachyon Donation is a small donation that helps us keep going and signals to the Worldcon community that Nuremberg has real backing. It does not include a membership.
Friend of the Bid is a larger contribution that funds the bid in full, and converts automatically into a full attending membership for Worldcon 2028 in Nuremberg if we win the vote at LAcon V.

We use Pretix as our registration platform. It is the same system we would use to manage memberships for the full convention. The infrastructure grows with us from bid to Worldcon.
One thing to be aware of: because Nuremberg 2028 is a bid and not yet an official event, some labels in the system still say “tickets” or “orders” rather than “memberships”. That is a technical constraint for now and will change if we win.
Also, because we are a bid rather than a confirmed cultural event, all purchases are subject to the standard German VAT rate of 19% rather than the reduced 7% rate that applies to cultural events. German tax law, what can we say.
